Weber Smokey Mountain

wsm_1 The Weber Smokey Mountain.  Yes this is the same Weber that makes the ubiquitous Weber Kettle grill.  I became the proud owner of the WSM in June of 2000.  First, I did a couple of test burns just to get the feel of temperature control and also wanted to see if it would live up to all the rave reviews before trying to smoke anything.  It did.

The only problems I experienced have been my own fault.  Mainly the result of my constant urge to fiddle with the vents.  Go to the BBQ Lodge Links page and look for the link to the Virtual Weber Bullet.

Turkey Fryer

Turkey Fryer Someday I may do a web page about cooking with the turkey fryer.  However, since there are so many web sites out there on the Internet that address turkey frying I don't feel like reinventing the wheel - so to speak

The block walls on each side act as a wind screen to help shield against breezes while cooking.  The plywood off to the right will be leaned against the open end of the block walls to complete the wind shield while cooking.

The Brinkmann Smoke 'N Grill

My first smoker was the much maligned Brinkmann Smoke 'N Grill; aka ECB(El Cheapo Brinkmann) because of the $40 or less price tag.  This smoker can produce good BBQ if you know how to use it.

If you are a serious owner of this Brinkmann cooker then you probably have done some modifications to make life easier for you.  If you aren't sure about what modifications can be done to the Brinkmann Smoke 'N Grill then go to the BBQ Lodge Links page and look for the link to Randy's web site.  Randy takes the Brinkmann Smoke 'N Grill to a new level of performance.

I smoked some cheese on the Brinkmann Smoke 'N Grill and really liked it.  See my BBQ Lodge Smoked Cheese web page to read about creating this tasty treat.

New Braunfels Black Diamond

NBBD I recommend NBBD owners go to the BBQ Lodge Links page and look for the link to the BBQ FAQ.  The are a couple of sections in the FAQ document that deal specifically with the NBBD.  The recommended modifications will make life easier for you.

The Weber Kettle

The Weber Kettle.  I call it Ol' Faithful.  I have been using this Weber Kettle since 1979. It doesn't look so pretty any more but it still gets the job done.  Still using all the original parts(grates, lid, wheels, ash catcher etc). Weber Kettle
